The Kelly Peterson 46 Center Cockpit Cutter is an enhanced version of the highly successful Kelly Peterson 44 line which was designed by Doug Peterson and was proven to be one of the finest "fast cruising" designs ever built. The KP 46 is a proven offshore cruiser perfect for the weekend or an ocean voyage. This boat was a pioneer in performance cruising design. Drawn for Jack Kelly Yachts by Doug Peterson, the KP 46’ is a dedicated moderate displacement cruiser that can sail well in any wind; 200-mile days are not uncommon. The long fin keel with cutaway afterbody reduces wetted surface for good light air performance and provides a shorter turning radius. A full size molded in skeg supports the rudder and provides good protection during an occasional grounding. The prop is protected in an aperture between the skeg and the rudder. These boats are found in seas all over the world today with a large number of loyal owners. Built in the prestigious Queen Long Yard in Taiwan “Stay Tuned," hull #5, built in 1982, features very high-quality construction throughout. This particular boat which has spent most of her life (15 years in fresh water) in the North East, has been subject to extensive refit and upgrade over the years at the direction of a meticulous and knowledgeable owner. She shows very well and is in sail away condition. She is the only KP 46’ on the market now and is awaiting the change of command. CALL NOW--if you wait, may be too late.

Broker's Comments

I am fortunate to say that I have the opportunity to list this beautiful boat. “Stay Tuned” is an absolutely gorgeous example of a center cockpit Kelly-Peterson and her bluewater capabilities have already been proven. With standing headroom in excess of 6’5” throughout, the interior hand-fitted joinery of teak and her gorgeous appearance whether at the dock or underway, “Stay Tuned” will turn heads. Designed by Jack Kelly and Doug Peterson, “Stay Tuned” is hull #05 of 30. The fast cruising design allows sailing in excess of 10 knots and under power her speed is 7-8 knots. A true, proven, and capable bluewater sailboat “Stay Tuned” only needs your personal gear and she is ready for the next adventure. Owners since 2004 have consistently upgraded systems and added more safety gear. They have sailed her extensively to many destinations with thousands of safe trouble-free miles. She is the only KP 46’ on the market at this time and a must to see if you’re in the market for a sail away vessel.
