The Island Packet 31 has been recognized as a cruising classic thanks to the highly successful and acclaimed Island Packet design concept that combines a broad beamed, modern full keel hull with handsome traditional styling and a generous yet easily managed rig. “P F Flyer” has a convertible three cabin layout. The private owner’s cabin is forward with a large V-Berth that has storage beneath the bed and a hanging locker to port. A large enclosed head that has an entrance from the owner’s cabin and from the passageway adjoins the owner’s cabin. The salon has port and starboard settees and a fold down bulkhead mounted table. The starboard settee converts into a double berth. There is storage under the settees. A U-Shaped galley is located on the port side. On the starboard side a convertible aft cabin contains an oversized quarter berth and fold down NAV desk. Eight opening port holes and opening hatches provide ventilation and light.
The salon is open and airy, with opposing settees to either side, and a large drop leaf dinette table mounted to the bulkhead when not in use. The table can be lowered when needed for dining or entertainment.

Starting at the bow, the forward cabin consists of a standard V-Berth, with filler cushion, capable of providing sleeping arrangements for two adults. There's a hanging locker, and a privacy door, as well as a door with direct access to the head compartment that follows to starboard.

Hull:
Cream-colored gelcoat and burgundy boot stripe. Built solidly to Island Packet standards, the topsides are fiberglass reinforced for rigidity with adequate non-skid on the flat working decks and cabin sole. A well designed, secure hull to deck joint fabrication, along with all sail control lines that are led aft to the cockpit make for a comfortable cruiser with a minimum of crew movement and ease of solo sailing.
